May 1 2007. Black Dragon Dragon Cruises announces that construction on the Pirate Cruise Ship Black Dragon has begun. "We are now laying the keel, which will take several weeks. Thereafter, progress will be rapid and we will post photos to the website", said Captain Phil Calo, project coordinator.

Calo went on to say, "It is our plan to offer a variety of pirate-themed cruises of various durations as well as a daily "bucaneer" dinner cruise. On all our cruises, we intend to offer not only exciting family entertainment which will appeal to sea dogs of all ages, but the opportunity to experience the natural beauty and variety of the renowned Laguna Madre, habitat for an enormous number of aquatic species. We'll stress the educational and ecological aspects, and have a lot of fun doing it. I can't tell how excited we all are! We can't wait to get under way.
